TICT Initiative ~ Overview
What is the TICT Initiative?
The TICT (Technology Integration Collaborative Teachers) Initiative is in response to the District 279 Technology Plan. The
Initiative provides equipment, support and teacher training to
assist a cadre of teachers with technology integration in their classrooms.
What is the TICT Initiative mission?
The TICT Initiative mission is to empower a cadre of teachers who seamlessly integrates
technology within District 279 curriculum to create a more interactive, student-centered and visually-engaging classroom to ensure learner success.

Who is the target audience for 2008-2009?
Approximately 150 teachers will be selected from the pool of applicants.
Primary focuses:
- Elementary grades 2-6
- Elementary ELL
- Elementary Music - Eligible to apply IF for the 2008-2009 school year, teachers are .8 or higher and teach in the SAME building
- Secondary Art
- Secondary Business Education
- Secondary ELL
- Secondary English/Language Arts
- Secondary Family and Consumer Science
- Secondary Health
- Secondary Math
- Secondary Music
- Secondary Science
- Secondary Social Studies
- Secondary Tech Ed
- Secondary World Languages
When can I apply?
Applications will be available on Monday, April 21, 2008 via the web link "Application Form" listed
at the
top of the page. Please allow 30 to
45 minutes for this process.
