'When the state said we were taking over education funding, we lied,' said Mindy Greiling, DFL-Roseville, K-12 education finance chair in the state House of Representatives. Because the state didn't come up with a way to fund its new commitment, she said, local districts have been given no choice but to increase property taxes.
