• The Birch Grove Elementary School for the Arts 2009-2010 School-wide Independent Reading program which began in October came to it's finale on May 14.
  Principal Zastrow promised students who met their reading goal he would wear a Viking jersey to school, which was difficult for him because he is a Packers fan! He also promised to take 9 pies in the face! Students were required to read 9 books outside of school, accompanied by creative reports on each.
  285 students earned a Golden Ticket after meeting their reading goal. The tickets admitted students into the 'pie in the face' event. Each student also chose a new book to add to their own collection.

• Spotlight on the Arts – May 7, 2010 was a huge hit! This 4th Annual Benefit sustains and enhances arts programming at Birch Grove Elementary School for the Arts.
  More than 200 were in attendance for outstanding performances by Drama Troupes, Visual Arts Troupes, Media Arts Troupe, Show Choirs and Dance Troupes. Prior to the performances many guests bid on more than 30 Silent Auction items. A selection of gourmet desserts was enjoyed by all.

• Our fifth annual musical production, Dear Edwina, Junior was another huge success!
  Over 700 people attended the production March 12-13. The matinee and evening shows were all sold out performances. Hats off to the entire cast and crew, Mrs. Holsen – drama teacher, Mr. Pogatshnik – music teacher, along with countless volunteers who helped create another BG musical hit!
