Four students from Osseo Area Schools have been named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists for their exceptional achievement on the 2015 PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test taken during their junior year. The students include Osseo Senior High student Collin Sham and Maple Grove Senior High students Alyssa Risch, Allan Khankari, and Sikai Yang.
About 1.6 million juniors in 22,000 high schools across the country entered the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2015 PSAT/NMSQT. As semifinalists, these students are among the highest-scoring entrants in each state, representing less than one percent of all U.S. high school seniors. They are among 16,000 semifinalists who will compete for 7,600 scholarships. Winners will be announced between April and July 2017.
