GradRates2015Staff in Osseo Area Schools are celebrating another year of big gains in the five-year trend for on-time graduation rates.

Over the past five years, the district’s overall graduation rate has increased by five percentage points, with 86% of all ISD 279 students graduating on time (within four years) in 2014, outpacing the state average of 81%.

Districtwide, the on-time graduation rate for every racial/ethnic group and subgroup (English learners, special education, and free/reduced lunch) improved, with two of the groups increasing by more than 25 percentage points over the five-year period. In 2014, on-time graduation by Osseo Area Schools students outpaced state averages in all but one (special education) of the categories measured.

Individual schools also saw significant increases in their respective five-year trend.

  • The largest gains at Maple Grove Senior High were for black and Asian students. Of special note is that 100% of the Asian members of the Class of 2014 at Maple Grove Senior High graduated on time. The on-time graduation rates for other sub-groups are also consistently high.
  • Osseo Senior High saw improvements in every group measured over the five-year period. Gains were in the double digits for Asian and black students, and for English learners and students receiving free or reduced lunch.
  • Park Center’s five-year trend showed outstanding gains, with improvements in every group measured. On-time graduation rates for English learners increased by more than 30 percentage points over the five-year period. Black and Hispanic students and those receiving free or reduced lunch made gains of more than 20 percentage points each.
