District 279 Volunteers
Uniting Communities of Excellence!
The mission of volunteer involvement in District 279 is to build community, support student success and inspire people to excel by encouraging parent, student, and community involvement through meaningful volunteer work in our schools.

We want to THANK our parents, grandparents, and members of the community for their continued support! Volunteers are an important asset to our community.
In 2006-2007, District 279 had over 6,200 volunteers who contributed over 141,000 hours of volunteer service by:
- Tutoring
- Classroom Assistance
- Field Trips
- School Events
- etc. etc. etc.
Schools recognize and support families and community members as participants in school programs by encouraging their roles in supporting, learning and honoring them as essential volunteers. Parents, families and community members can enrich the curriculum and facilitate learning.
