Global Studies Magnet at Park Center

Park Center in collaboration with North West Suburban Integration School District (NWSISD) has become a Global Studies Magnet School.

International Mindedness is at the center of our curriculum. Student’s learning in the school will be infused with four Regions of the world: Africa, the Americas, Asia/Pacific and Europe.

Students in 11 and 12 choose a focus area:

  • Global Change – Refers to the motivating or driving global forces of change, physical or social
  • Global Connections – Refers to the various connections between people, countries, societies and governments anywhere on Earth
  • Global Technologies – Refers to the ways we apply knowledge to solve practical problems, especially in industry and commerce across the globe.

    Course work will be chosen through the lens of the student’s focus area.

    All Capstone students complete a Senior Capstone Project: Seniors will solve a problem in their area of interest through local and global collaboration.

  • Student Capstone Project
  • An integrated learning experience;
  • Connections to other students’ work; and,
  • Connections to the larger community.
