BE IT RESOLVED that the
Osseo Area Schools Board of Education, Superintendent
of Schools and the Osseo Federation of Teachers
agree to establish a long-term process, which
is deeply collaborative, responsible and responsive
to all stakeholders; which brings about effective
and sustainable change for improved education
for the learner through shared decision making.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT we believe the ongoing
process of shared decision
making will:
- positively enhance student achievement through
data driven decision making;
- improve and expand communication and responsiveness
to needs in a timely manner;
- promote trust, collegiality, unity and a safe,
respectful environment for innovation;
- encourage shared authority and responsibility
for decision making;
- facilitate change;
- respond to needs through continuous improvement;
- place responsibility and accountability closer
to those directly involved in the teaching and
learning process;
- allow active participation by the Board of
Education, the Superintendent, unions, administrators,
teachers, staff, parents, students, and community
members.
NOW THEREFORE, we agree to promote a Shared
Decision Making Model for the purpose of improving
the educational program for the students of the Osseo
Area Schools.
