ann mockAnn Mock, principal at Oak View Elementary, has been named the 2019 Administrator of the Year by the Minnesota School Counselors Association (MSCA).

This award honors individuals who have made significant contributions to improve school counseling services and who demonstrate leadership, advocacy and collaboration in their work to promote equity and access to opportunities for all students to maximize student achievement.

“This was the most humbling and honorable experience in my career,” said Mock. “I am truly blessed to be honored by so many dedicated, passionate and highly skilled school counselors.”

Throughout her career, Mock has been a strong supporter of school counselors and has recognized the importance of getting students the services they need to be successful, said Dave Warner, counselor at Oak View Elementary.

“School counselors have one of the most important and challenging jobs in our schools,” added Mock. “The social and emotional needs of our students need to be met before they can begin to focus on academics and learning.”

Mock was honored and received her award at the MSCA Conference on April 29 in St. Paul. She is the second Osseo Area Schools employee to receive an MSCA award in the past two years; in 2017, Amy Paton was named Elementary School Counselor of the Year.
